Lady Eagles Pitchers Rally Together to Shutout Red Hill

Newton Lady Eagles defeated Red Hill Varsity Salukis 10-0 on Monday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Emma Kidwell induced a groundout from P Havill to finish off the game.

2022 Newton Lady Eagles secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Morgan White, “Kayla” Kocher, Kayla “Kocher”, and Lexie Grove and a triple by Amber Russell.

2022 Newton Lady Eagles fired up the offense in the first inning, when Russell drew a walk, scoring one run.

2022 Newton Lady Eagles notched six runs in the second inning. 2022 Newton Lady Eagles’s big inning was driven by singles by White, Kocher, “Kocher”, and Grove and a triple by Russell.

One bright spot for Red Hill Varsity Salukis was a single by Havill in the second inning.

“Kocher” was the winning pitcher for 2022 Newton Lady Eagles. The righthander surrendered zero runs on two hits over three innings, striking out six and walking one. Kidwell threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

P Hill took the loss for Red Hill Varsity Salukis. The bulldog lasted five and a third innings, allowing 12 hits and ten runs while striking out five.

2022 Newton Lady Eagles saw the ball well today, racking up 12 hits in the game. Kocher, Kidwell, and Russell each collected multiple hits for 2022 Newton Lady Eagles. Russell, Kidwell, and Kocher all had two hits to lead 2022 Newton Lady Eagles.
