Lady Eagles Place Third in Class 2A State Finals

The Jasper County Junior High Lady Eagles defeated the Beardstown Junior High Tigers to win the third-place game in the Class 2A State Tournament. Eagles player Paige Wagner had three hits in four at-bats with one being a triple in the sixth inning and two singles.

The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the fourth inning after Jacee Dhom singled and Emma Brooks walked, each scoring one run. Lexie Ghast opened the game giving up five hits and zero runs over seven innings striking out five and walking one.

Dhom, Wagner, and Kraegan Groves each drove in two runs. Jorja Reich collected two hits. Gabbie Flowers stole two bases and Brooks made the most plays with seven. The Lady Eagles ended their season with zero errors during the game.
