The Newton Lady Eagles defeated the Oblong Lady Panthers in a shut out pitched b Kayla Kocher who allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings striking out five and walking zero. Emma Kidwell threw two innings
The Eagles scored their first run of the game in the bottom of the first when Amber Russell doubled on a fly ball to left bringing home Camryn Martin. Lexie Grove then tripled on a fly to right bringing Russell home. The Eagles scored again in the second inning when Lily Kessler scored on a single by Addison O’Dell.
In the bottom of the third, Amber Russell hits a home run on a fly ball to left field allowing Kayla Kocher to score. In the bottom of the fourth scoring continued for the Eagles when Russell singled on a ground ball to right allowing O’Dell and Martin to score. Russell then scored when Grove hits a ground ball to second bringing the score to 9-0. The final score of the game came in the bottom of the fifth when Morgan White bunted and reached on an error by the thirdbaseman allowing Jessilyn Hall to score.
