After several delays and a change of umpires due to the length of time from the start of the game to the finish, our Jasper County Lady Eagles defeated Tremont with a final score of 8-7. The Lady Eagles took the lead in the first inning with one run and maintained the lead adding another run in the third. At the top of the fourth inning, Tremont puts one on the board, however, Jasper County retaliated with three. Each team scored one in the fifth and Tremont scored one in the sixth to Jasper County’s two. The definite win for the Eagles started to fade as Tremont added four to the board, but the Lady Eagles pulled out the win.

Avery Mulvey was the pitcher for the Eagles with seven innings pitched, seven runs, ten hits, five strikeouts and one walk.

Sally Mahaffey and Addy O’Dell each scored two runs and Karasyn Martin, Macy Barthelemy, Lily Kessler and Sydney Kinder each scored one run. Addy O’Dell had two RBIs and Camryn Martin, Mackenzie Miller and Avery Mulvey each had one RBI.

The Lady Eagles will play at 10:30 in the morning (weather pending) at Champion Fields in Normal. They will face the undefeated Manteno team who is 24-0. The Lady Eagles are 26-1. Manteno defeated Coal City in the first round with a final score of 3-7.  If the Lady Eagles are defeated in the semifinals they will advance to the third place game at 2:30 (weather pending). If they win, they will play in the State Championship game at 4:30 pm (weather pending).
