Laura Gentry Signs with Wabash Valley College Cheerleading Squad

Laura Gentry, daughter of Christy and Lyle Gentry, will be attending Wabash Valley College as a member of the Cheerleading squad. During her time at NCHS, Laura has been a participant in Beta Club, Student Council, Marching Band, FCCLA, Math club, Math team, science club.

What made you decide this school was the best fit for you? 
  I chose Wabash Valley College because it allows me to continue participating in the sport I love while also earning my college education.


How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life? 
    NCHS has prepared me for this next chapter by consistently encouraging me, supporting me, and pushing me to strive for my best both academically and personally.


What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports? 
     Two important life lessons I have learned from cheerleading are to never give up on my dreams and to always push myself to be the best version of myself.


How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level? 
    My coaches have helped prepare me for the collegiate level by challenging me to push beyond my comfort zone, give my best effort, and continuously try new skills.


What will you miss the most next year about not being at NCHS?
     What I will miss most about not being at NCHS next year is no longer being able to cheer alongside my friends.
