What other sports and activities – clubs, organizations, groups (in and out of school) have you been in during your time at NCHS? Also include things like IMEA, musicals, pit or cast, and anything else you can think of.
Cross Country for four years, Track and Field for three years, Marching Band for four years, Pep Band for four years, LIC Pep Band for two years, Concert Band for four years, Math Club, Science Club, Beta clubWhat made you decide this school was the best fit for you?

It is close to home and allows me to stay close to my family for longer. It’s also a smaller college, so it won’t be as big of an adjustment as if I went to a bigger college. How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?

Going to NCHS taught me how to manage my time better. With all the activities I participated in, I had to be efficient with my time. I also developed social skills that I previously didn’t have going into high school. Both of these skills will aid me in my near future of going to Olney Central College. What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS?

I have learned how to be a leader in situations where it is needed. This year, I and another person were the section leaders of the clarinets. This role has helped me develop better leadership skills. I have also learned how to better cooperate with others and work with them to achieve a bigger goal. This skill will also help me in any work environment in my future. How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level?

They have helped hone my skills throughout my high school career by challenging me to be the best I can be every day. They also enforce us practicing on our own as well to help us get better. This has helped enforce a habit of practicing outside of school hours. What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?

The thing I will miss the most about being a Newton Eagle is being a part of the Newton Marching Eagles. I loved performing at football games and competitions. I know many people are proud of our band, and I wish I could be a part of it for longer.
