At approximately 8:23 pm on December 18th, 2024 deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call approximately 1.5 miles east of the IL Hwy 49/IL Hwy 33 intersection on IL Hwy 33. Upon arrival deputies and Jasper County Ambulance Service personnel rendered aid to a male gunshot victim who was transported from the scene by ambulance with injuries.
Another male individual was apprehended by Jasper County deputies at the scene. The suspect currently remains in custody of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office. The case is under investigation by the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, the Jasper County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit. Statements made herein are based upon probable cause. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
