Can you tell people who might not know you a little about yourself? Family? Education?
My name is Chris Parr. My Father and Mother are Sam and Marge Parr. My family has been a part of this community for many generations. I was raised in this community and I love still being a part of this community. I went to school at Jasper County schools and attended and graduated from college in Indiana. My wife Stacey and I have been together for 29 years. Her maiden name was Houser. Her Father and Mother are Bill and Barb Houser. She too was raised in this community and her family has been a part of this community for many generations as well. We have 3 Children Tanner, Kennedy, and Jacey.
What made you decide to work for the District?
I started working For JCCU #1 Schools 18 years ago. I was not working in Jasper County at the time and my kids were very young. I wanted to work back in the county and be closer to home.
What are some of the greatest strengths you feel our school District has?
The greatest strength of our District is our kids. When you see our kids Strengths, talents, and abilities you see our districts strengths, talents, and abilities. I will say if you were looking for specifics that would be a big list of Positives. We are not perfect, but I believe as a district we do not want to be just good enough. I believe we are striving to be great and for one reason only. For the kids of Jasper County.
What are some of the greatest improvements you have seen over the years?
In my 18 years I would say the greatest improvements has been communication and team work as a whole in the District.
What do you feel are the most important qualities of a bus driver and why?
The most important qualities of a bus driver are 1st, truly caring about the safety and well being for students and building positive relationships with their students. Next I would say experience, The average experience of our drivers is 15 years. That is a lot of experience out there. They have drove through every type of weather, road conditions, and they know our county. They keep our kids safe.
