Michelle Nelson-Schmidt visited Jasper County Schools and spoke about her life and the lessons she learned as well as the books she has written. She spoke with the kids about following their dreams no matter what, and to find their happiness and follow their dreams.
She has written books about the Whatif Monster, Cordelia, and many others. The Whatif Monster is something that happens inside all of us as we allow doubts, fears and worry overtake our hopes and dreams and motivation. The “Whatif Monster” offers all of the What ifs that are bad about trying something new, however, the main character Jonathan James learns to ask the opposites of these questions.
Another character Cordelia believes she can fly until others tell her she can not. She listens to others who tell her she can’t until she finally learns to believe in herself.
