Today marked the conclusion of the NCHS production of Beauty and the Beast as well as the final curtain call for four very special and dedicated volunteers who have, between the four of them, 128 years of musical theater experience. Janice Hammer, Connie Wagy, Glenn Clapp, and Rahel Wagy have spent decades designing and creating costumes and sets for the Newton Community High School theater community.
The memories and long lasting impressions all four of these volunteers will leave behind spans far beyond the high school stage and into the community and every day lives of hundreds of alumni, their families, and those they encounter. These four men and women have been the constant through director changes, students graduating, and even changes to the auditorium itself. The life lessons they have handed down throughout the years have helped shape many actors and actresses, and they will truly be missed.
