NCHS Beauty and the Beast: Senior Cast Member Elise Wright

Elise Wright, daughter of Michele and Dusty Wright will perform the role of Silly Girl #1 (Colette) in the NCHS Musical production of Beauty and the Beast on April 7th through 10th

What musicals have you been in at NCHS and what characters/roles did you play?

Cinderella (Ensemble), Joesph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat (1st-year dancer) (2nd-year Narrator), White Christmas (Judy)

What was your favorite musical and why?

I would have to say that White Christmas was my favorite because of the humor and realism of it all. The White Christmas cast was also very close and that made it twice as fun to perform the show.

What scene in Beauty and the Beast is your favorite and why? (This does not have to be a scene you are in)

My favorite scene in Beauty and the Beast is Gaston because of all the dancing involved and it is all around just a fun scene to be in

What are two life lessons you have learned from the directors?

I have learned to put on a smile even if I am frustrated because everything always works out. I’ve also learned how to step up and have someone’s back when things don’t go quite right.

Excluding the directors,  what qualities do you see exemplified in the adults who help put on this show that you will take with you as you leave NCHS and how do they demonstrate these qualities?

Jeremy is our sound guy that makes sure all of our hard work is being heard. His job is a lot harder than people think and I learned that when I was tasked with working the sound board when Jeremy wasn’t there. It takes a lot of focus and responsibility to be able to make sure the performers voices are heard. I really appreciate him as a part of our crew solely because without him we would not have a show.

What will you miss the most once the final curtain closes on your NCHS musical career?

I will miss the family I have been accepted into. Our cast really is a family and I will definitely miss being a part of it.
