Newton Community High School celebrated Homecoming 2026 on Friday, September 25, with the annual Homecoming Parade, bringing students, organizations and community members together for an afternoon of school spirit.
This year’s Homecoming theme was “Greetings from Homecoming,” and parade entries showcased the theme as they made their way down Miss D Avenue during the afternoon celebration.
The parade began at 2:30 p.m., giving students and community members an opportunity to celebrate Homecoming before the evening’s festivities and football game.
The parade featured entries from NCHS classes, school organizations and community groups. Participants decorated floats and vehicles and took part in the celebration, with entries judged prior to the start of the parade.
Awards were offered in several categories, including the float most in keeping with the Homecoming theme, the float with the most original idea, and awards recognizing design and workmanship. High school classes also competed for an award recognizing the float that combined outstanding design and workmanship with the Homecoming theme.
The parade was one of several events surrounding NCHS Homecoming 2026 and helped set the tone for a day filled with school pride and community celebration.
