NCHS Hall of Fame

Our first in the Class of 2020 is Kelsi Geltz. Kelsi is the daughter of Don and Bobbi Geltz
Kelsi is with her college volleyball team this evening. She is represented by NCHS volleyball coach Jill Kistner. Kelsi was a three year letter winner in softball
and volleyball at NCHS. She was a two time all conference performer in softball, and was all LIC three times in volleyball. Kelsi was the libero for the 2017 state 3rd place team. She was Herald and Review all area both her junior and senior years, and finished her career with over 1000 digs. Kelsi is an elementary education major at Lake Land College.

The next member of the 2020 class is Maddi Hemrich. Maddi is the daughter
of Randy and Linda Hemrich. Maddi was a 3 year letter winner in softball and volleyball at NCHS. She was the setter on our 2017 that placed 3 rd at state and on 3 straight LIC champion teams.
Maddi was a 2 time first team all conference performer and Decatur Herald and Review all area as a senior, and was 8 th in assists in the state of Illinois that year as well. Maddi is a Psychology major at Indiana State University.

Our next member of the 2020 class is Kyle Schafer. Kyle is the son of Kent and
Michelle Schafer. Kyle was a 2 time NCHS basketball Most Valuable Player and all conference performer. He was a Herald and Review all area player his senior year.
Also in Kyle’s senior year, he scored the 6 th highest single season point total in
NCHS history, while the Eagles went from 6 wins the year before to 19 wins in
2020. Kyle currently attends the University of Illinois, majoring in Accounting and
Finance.

Next is Abby Stone. Abby is the daughter of John and Michelle Stone – Abby is with her college XC team tonight. Representing Abby tonight is NCHS XC Coach Brock Tarr. Abby was a 3 year letter winner, an all- conference performer, and a state qualifier in Cross Country. She was a 4 year letter winner, an all conference performer, and a 3x state qualifier in track, including anchoring our 4×4 relay to a 3 rd place finish at the state meet her junior year. Abby is majoring in Physical Therapy at Maryville University.

The last member of the class of 2020 is Jacelyn Street. Jacelyn was a four year letter winner in tennis and a 4x state qualifier. She was a 3x Little Illini Conference singles
champion. Jacelyn was a 3 TIME all stater in tennis, finishing with a top 12 finish her senior year. Jacelyn is at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale as a Pre-Med major.

The first member of the Class of 2021 is Lane Bradley. He is the son of Chris and
Leann Bradley. Lane is a four year letter winner in Bass Fishing and was Angler of the Year 3x. He was a 4-time sectional qualifier. Lane finished in the top 3 at tournaments in Newton, Springfield and Clinton, and now is on the Bass Team at Wabash Valley College, which is ranked 8 th in the nation. Lane is studying welding at Wabash.

The next member of the Class of 2021 is Ross Farley. Ross is the son of Chad and
Holly Farley. Ross lettered 4 times in both baseball and soccer. He was a first team all-conference performer in baseball as a senior. In soccer, Ross holds the records for both goals in a season and goals in a career, and was also named to the Decatur Herald and Review all area team. The Eagle soccer team had a combined
record of 56-10-4 during Ross’s four years. Ross currently attends the University of
Illinois, majoring in Ag Business.

The last member of the Class of 2021 is RJ Lindemann. RJ is acting in a play tonight at the Effingham Performance Center, so his sister Heidi is representing him.
RJ was a two year letter winner football, as well as a first team all conference performer. He was recognized as a member of the Illinois Football Coaches Association All-State team last year as well. In between Newton City Council meetings, RJ is attending Lake Land College, majoring in Finance. He will also be taking over the public address duties for the Sept. 17 home football game, and we appreciate his dad Rick filling in for him tonight.
