NCHS: Mamma Mia: Senior Cast Member Brayden Line

Brayden Line, son of Jamee Line and Doug Line, will portray Father Alexandrios in the NCHS Musical production of Mamma Mia on March 30 through April 2.

What musicals have you been in at NCHS and what characters/roles did you play?
I am only in the Mama Mia play and I am Father Alexandrios and I am an understudy for any male lead role.

What was your favorite musical and why?
My favorite musical I have seen is “Thoroughly Modern Millie”. The stage production, the actors, and the songs were amazing and hard to beat.

What are three things being in the musical has taught you? and how have you learned these?
I have learned to try new things, get out your comfort zone, and hard work. I have learned that great things come out of hard work and getting out your comfort zone and will be fun.

What are two pieces of advice you would give young people who want to start performing in musicals at NCHS?
Start early because who knows your singing performance and if it’s good, you can get more major roles. I also suggest making friends in musical or else at practices, you won’t talk to any and 2-6 hour long practices will be awful.

What qualities do you see exemplified in the adults who help put on this show that you will take with you as you leave NCHS and how do they demonstrate these qualities?
I see the qualities in Finley how he balances seriousness and humor while at his job perfectly. I will try to use those qualities once I graduate from high school.

What will you miss the most once the final curtain closes on your NCHS musical career?
With it being my only musical, I will miss the feeling of satisfaction like my fellow members who have been doing musical since freshman or sophomore year.
