The Newton Eagles Volleyball program celebrated a successful 2024 season by honoring several athletes for their accomplishments both on and off the court. The Little Illini Conference released its All-Conference selections, and four Eagles earned recognition for their standout play throughout the year.
Little Illini Conference All-Conference Selections
First Team All-Conference
- Hydi Bierman
- Allie Hermann
Both Bierman and Hermann were dominant forces for the Eagles this season, consistently producing high-level performances and leading the team in major statistical categories. Their leadership and competitiveness anchored Newton’s success throughout conference play.
Second Team All-Conference
- Morgan Schafer
Schafer’s defensive presence and reliability in the back row earned her a well-deserved spot on the Second Team. Her quick reads and steady passing kept the Eagles competitive in tight matches.
Honorable Mention
- Joslynn Pitcher
Pitcher’s growth and impact at the net were recognized by conference coaches, earning her Honorable Mention honors. Her blocking and offensive contributions became key to the Eagles’ late-season push.
Coach’s Reflection
Head Coach Jill Kistner praised both the team’s accomplishments and the leadership of her senior athletes:
“This group of seniors set the tone for our entire season,” Kistner said. “They showed up every single day ready to work, ready to compete, and ready to support each other. Their leadership, resilience, and commitment shaped the culture of this team. I’m incredibly proud of everything they accomplished and grateful for the legacy they’re leaving behind.”
