New Open Pickleball Nights Coming to Peterson Park

Pickleball season is officially underway at Peterson Park, and community members of all ages are invited to come out and join the fun this summer and fall.

Open Pickleball will take place every Monday and Thursday evening at 6:00 p.m. at Peterson Park, weather permitting, and games will continue through the end of October. Organizers hope the weekly gatherings will provide a fun and welcoming opportunity for residents to stay active, socialize, and learn one of the fastest-growing sports in the country.

Whether someone has played for years or has never picked up a paddle before, everyone is encouraged to participate. Players of all skill levels are welcome, from beginners wanting to learn the basics to experienced players looking for friendly competition.

To help new players get started, organizers are also planning to have people available to provide lessons and instruction during open play nights. The goal is to create an inviting atmosphere where anyone can feel comfortable learning the game and joining in.

Pickleball has continued to grow in popularity across communities of all sizes because of its easy-to-learn rules, fast-paced action, and social atmosphere. The sport combines elements of tennis, badminton, and ping-pong, making it enjoyable for players of nearly any age or athletic ability.

Community members are encouraged to bring friends, family members, and neighbors out to Peterson Park throughout the season. Participants should bring their own paddle if possible, though newcomers are still encouraged to attend even if they are new to the sport.

Organizers are asking community members to help spread the word and share the information with others who may be interested in joining.

Open Pickleball at Peterson Park begins at 6:00 p.m. every Monday and Thursday evening, weather permitting, and will continue through October.
