Newton Elementary Veterans Day Program

Newton Elementary School hosted a touching Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 7, 2025, bringing together students, staff, families, and community members in a heartfelt tribute to the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The program began at 10 a.m. with a Parade of Flags led by the first and second grade classes. A beautiful piano performance of “America the Beautiful” by Scarlett Semple, sixth grade, set a respectful and patriotic tone for the ceremony.

Members of the American Legion presented the Colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem, which was movingly signed by Gracie Kristner, fifth grade.

The ceremony continued with student-led reflections and performances, all honoring the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of veterans. Under the leadership of Alexis Goeckner, fifth grade, and Sara Mitchels, sixth grade, students delivered thoughtful messages such as “Thank You Letter to Veterans” by Mia Meinhart and Jadelynn Housch, fifth grade; “Meaning of Veterans Day” by Mia Fehrenbacher and Knox Kuhn, fifth grade; “You’re a Grand Old Flag” performed by NES Chorus Members; “The Flag Goes By” by Henry Halcomb Bennett, fourth grade; and another “Thank You Letter to Veterans” presented by Ellyonna Conrad, Cassie Thull, and Brooke Lloyd, sixth grade.

A special portion of the morning was dedicated to honoring and recognizing veterans in attendance. Sixth graders Sophia Kocher, Jett Judson, Kylie Jayne, Sienna Mitchel, and Bailey Hosapple helped lead this segment, offering sincere words of gratitude to those who have served our country.

The ceremony concluded with the solemn, echoing notes of “Taps,” giving students and guests a moment of quiet reflection. From the waving of small flags to heartfelt student messages, Newton Elementary’s Veterans Day Program provided a meaningful tribute and a powerful reminder of the importance of honoring veterans not just on November 11, but every day.
