Newton Public Library to Host Used Book Sale April 20–25

Book lovers in Jasper County will have plenty to browse later this month as the Newton Public Library District prepares to host its annual Used Book Sale.

The event will take place April 20 through April 25, 2026, at the library, located at 100 S. Van Buren Street in Newton.

The sale will feature a wide selection of books for readers of all ages and interests. Shoppers can expect to find everything from popular fiction and large print titles to children’s and young adult books. With a variety of genres available, the sale offers an opportunity for the community to stock up on affordable reading materials while supporting the local library.

Hours for the sale will vary throughout the week. The library will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., giving visitors flexible options to stop in and browse.

Events like the Used Book Sale not only promote literacy but also help fund library programs and services that benefit the entire community.

Residents are encouraged to stop by, explore the selection, and take home a few new reads while supporting a valued local resource.
