Ribbon Cutting Scheduled for Brand New Senior Housing in Newton, Illinois
The much-anticipated senior rental community, Newton Senior Living, is pleased to host a
Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on June 8 th at 11:30 a.m. The beautiful, brand new two-story elevator
building with 35 units is located at 201 Easton Street, on Newton’s south side. Newton Senior
Living provides 29 one-bedroom apartments with 621 square feet, and six two-bedroom
apartments with 921 square feet, and serves independent seniors age 55 or older.
Developed by Oak Grove Development in partnership with North Arrow Partners and with
funding from the Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA), the development is the first
of its kind in Jasper County. The building and units for Newton Senior Living were designed
from the start to support an active, healthy senior lifestyle. In addition to a brand new kitchen,
each apartment has a dishwasher and, unlike many senior buildings, an in-unit washer/dryer.
Residents will enjoy the 24-hour indoor fitness center, an outdoor landscaped patio, and a
spacious and attractive community room for visits with friends and family, playing cards, or
watching television.
Four of the apartments at Newton Senior Living will be accessible and one will be a sensory-
impaired unit. Designed by North Arrow Architecture, Newton Senior Living also offers an
impressive array of amenities and services. Sarah Kinkade, Director of the Jasper County
Chamber of Commerce, stated, “ it has been a pleasure working the folks from North Arrow and
their team, the care they have shown to the potential and future residents of the Newton Senior
Living Facility has been above and beyond our expectations. The new development is impressive
inside and out, and we look forward to it opening and benefiting the citizens of our community.”
Newton Senior Living is very conveniently located for shopping and services. It is located on
Eaton Street, only 500 feet away from Route 130, a busy Newton commercial corridor, and
across the street from the Martin’s IGA grocery store. There are also several restaurants within a
short walk of the building.
