Newton’s Fall Festival Set for September 13th

The Newton Square will come alive on Saturday, September 13, 2025, as the community gathers for the annual Fall Festival—a day packed with entertainment, food, family fun, and local tradition.

The day kicks off early with the Grace United Methodist Church Pancake Breakfast from 7–10 a.m., followed by a full schedule of activities that will stretch well into the evening. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., craft vendors and food booths will line the square, offering everything from handmade goods to fall treats.

The festival parade begins at 10 a.m., featuring floats, local organizations, and the Newton Community High School Band, which will also perform and receive awards following the parade.

Families will find plenty to keep children entertained. A bounce house, petting zoo, rock climbing wall, corn pit, and sidewalk chalk art will run throughout the day. Kids can also join in the future firemen’s training on South Jackson Street or register for the always-popular pedal tractor pull.

The animal show at 1 p.m. promises a lively display on the south side of the square, while the west side will transform into a foam party at 4 p.m. For those who enjoy live performance, the Voices of Our Town will take the stage at 5 p.m. with their show “Echoes of Our Eagles.”

Music lovers can look forward to the evening headliner: the Southern Comfort Band, performing from 6–9 p.m. The concert, along with the free children’s facepainting throughout the day, is proudly sponsored by the Embarras River Tourism Council.

A highlight of the festival will be a live auction, featuring a courthouse painting by local artist Lori Donsbach Fagen, who will also be doing a live painting demonstration earlier in the day.

With sidewalk sales around the square, food at every corner, and photography opportunities at the Newton Public Library, organizers are encouraging everyone to bring a lawn chair and spend the day downtown.

From morning pancakes to an evening concert under the stars, Newton’s Fall Festival promises something for all ages—a true celebration of community spirit and small-town charm.
