Nick Zwilling Signs with Kaskaskia

Nick Zwilling, son of Marvin and Elaine Zwilling, will be attending Kaskaskia College as a part of the cross country team. Nick has been active in 4H, the R.E.A.D. (Reading Excites All Dreams) team, FFA, and the Captain’s Club.

What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?

I decided Kaskaskia was the best fit for me because it had Cross Country, it has an automotive program that I’ve heard great things about, and I know people who have went there and really enjoyed it.

How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?

I feel that it has not only prepared me physically but has also prepared me mentally. Sports in general have helped build me into the person I am today, but also NCHS staff have been good role models to help guide me.

What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?

I have learned way more than just two life lessons from sports but If I had to choose my top two I would pick “Patience is key” and  “Have a positive attitude”.

How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?

They have done quite a bit to prepare me by explaining how the college level sports work and how they are similar and different from High School sports. They also helped build my character and taught me lots of good lessons.

What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?

I will miss all of the coach’s and teammates and all of the other people that have helped me out throughout the years.
