Notice of Sale of Property Owned by the City of Newton and Invitation to Bid

NOTICE OF SALE OF PROPERTY OWNED BY
THE CITY OF NEWTON AND
INVITATION TO BID THEREON

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the CITY OF NEWTON will receive sealed bids
for the purchase of all of the City of Newton’s right, title and interest in and to the
following real property:

The West Forty-nine (49) feet of even width of Lot Five (5) in Block Fifteen
(15) in the City of Newton

which property has no separate address and is generally located in the middle of a
block surrounded by St. Marie Street, Lafayette Street, Marion Street and North
Jackson Street in the City of Newton. Said property is unimproved.
Bids for the purchase of the aforesaid interest in the above-described property
are hereby invited and will be received by the City Clerk at 108 North Van Buren Street,
Newton, Illinois 62448 between the hours of 8:00 o’clock a.m. and 5:00 o’clock p.m.
until July 9, 2021 at 5:00 o’clock p.m. Said proposal shall be addressed to:

and shall bear the legal “BID – Vacant Land surrounded by St. Marie Street, Lafayette
Street, Marion Street and North Jackson Street in the City of Newton ” and the name
and address of the bidder. The bid must contain the bidder’s offered purchase price to
be payable within 30 days of bid acceptance.
All bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud at the regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newton at 6:00 o’clock p.m. on July 20, 2021.
A contract may be awarded to the highest bidder whose bid is found to be in the
best interest of the City of Newton. The City of Newton reserves the right to reject any
and all bids and to accept any bid which the City believe to be in the best interest of the
City of Newton. The City of Newton further reserves the right to review and study any
and all bids and to make a contract award within 30 days after the bids has been
opened and publicly read.
