The Newton Marching Eagles had a clean sweep at the Effingham Red Regiment Band Invitational Class 3A. They won Outstanding Percussion, Outstanding Color Guard, Outstanding Music, Outstanding Visual, Outstanding General Effect, First Place in Class 3A and Grand Champion of Classes 1A-3A.
