The Newton Lady Eagles ended their softball season in the regional championship game against Flora when rain caused the game to be concluded at five innings. The game was tied at one with Flora batting in the top of the fifth when Flora scored one run on a stolen base.
The Newton Lady Eagles girls’ track team placed fifth in the state in the 4×200 relay. Running in this relay were Laney Hemrich, Morgan Schafer, Makayla McVicar, and Sydney Kinder.
