What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
I felt that EIU was the best fit for me academically and athletically. EIU felt like the “home away from home”. After meeting the coaches and my future teammates, I knew that I wanted to spend the next 4 years there.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
The staff at NCHS have prepared me for my next step in life. They are very approachable and are willing to help you whenever you ask.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from sports?
A life lesson I have learned from sports is that you need to stay disciplined or you will fail. Another lesson I have learned is that the sun will always come up the next day. No matter how hard something gets it is not the end of the world.
How have your coaches (and assistant coaches) helped prepare you to play at a collegiate level?
My coaches have pushed me to be the best athlete and person I can be over the past 4 years. They have taught me how to be a better athlete and leader. Everything they have taught me I will apply over the next 4 years.
What will you miss the most next year about not being at NCHS?
The main thing I will miss next year will be my high school teammates. Playing basketball and running on the track with them the past 4 years have created lifelong friendships that I will cherish forever.
Is there anything you would like to add?
Thank you to my Family, Coaches, and Teammates. I wouldn’t be the person I am today without their guidance and support.
