Pat Reis – Sainte Marie Foundation Celebration of Life
Pat Reis grew up on a farm just outside of Sainte Marie. She left for college
and raised her family in the Chicago area. Sainte Marie remained in her heart,
and she came back every year to visit her mother and introduce her children to
the place she always considered home.
After a successful career in education and public relations, she made it her
mission to give back to the town she loved by leading the formation of the
Sainte Marie Foundation in 2007. In the early years, she was the driving force
behind every event using her many skills to coordinate volunteers and focus
them on tasks. Pat raised money to fund the Foundation’s efforts, wrote the
Foundation’s quarterly newsletter and lead the Board of Directors. She lived
and breathed the Foundation and made frequent trips back to Sainte Marie to
coordinate activities and help energize new events to drive community pride
and participation.
Pat’s efforts from 2007 to 2017 resulted in the Sainte Marie Foundation that
exists today – with a strong community presence and financial independence.
Pat passed away last summer at the age of 86. Please join us on Thursday,
May 9, 2024, between 4:00 – 7:00 pm for a Celebration of Life for Pat at the
Sainte Marie Foundation House (113 S. Washington St., Sainte Marie, IL).
Pat’s sons Mark and Will will be in attendance as well as other family from the
area. Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. We look forward to
seeing you and sharing your memories of working with Pat during the early
years of the Sainte Marie Foundation.
