Peoples State Bank Recognizes More Than 100 Years of Experience
Three members of Accounting Department retire in 2021

Newton (Sept. 15, 2021) – The last year has included many changes for local businesses. Peoples State
Bank felt the change more acutely in the first half of 2021, as three long-time members of the
Accounting Department entered retirement. Pam LaVallie, Cinda Short and Shelia Millsap shared more
than 100 years of combined experience in banking when they retired.

“It’s bittersweet when a colleague retires after years of dedicated service,” said Stacy Moore,
President of Peoples State Bank. I am very happy for the as they begin their retirement, while at the
same time, it’s hard to say farewell to these three, who have contributed so much to the bank’s success
over the last several years.”

Pam LaVallie retired as the Accounting Supervisor and a Bank Officer, overseeing many functions
of the Accounting Department and the bank overall. Cinda Short and Shelia Millsap were both involved
in daily Accounting operations across eight branches, handling general ledger balances, statements
reconciliations, customer inquiries and end-of-day processes.

“To say that these ladies leave big shoes to fill is an understatement. We have been fortunate to work
with individuals who have taken so much pride in their work and have built strong relationships with
their customers, their co-workers and the Newton community,” Stacy said.

Peoples State Bank honored Pam, Cinda and Shelia with a luncheon to celebrate their retirement.
Peoples State Bank, the Board of Directors and all the staff would like to congratulate these three on
their retirements!
