Wade Fire was dispatched at 9:09am to Pitchco Three for a hog building full engulfed. Upon arrival, we realized we had two buildings fully engulfed. At that time, Wade Fire decided to pull a M.A.B.A.S. Box Alarm. The box alarm brought in extra tankers for water shuttle from Dieterich, Montrose, Crooked Creek, Yale, and Oblong.
The box alarm also brought in Noble Wakefield for station coverage, Olney and Montrose with engines and Teutopolis and Greenup with towers.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Department and the Jasper County Ambulance Service were on scene to assist with operations.
All units on scene set up a perimeter to contain the fire to the two buildings which held approximately 6,000 hogs.
Each building was 150ft by 750 ft. The other two hog buildings did not receive any fire damage. At this time, the fire is still under investigation. All fire units cleared the scene at 2:44pm.
