The City of Newton would like to remind citizens the following city offices are in the 2021 Consolidated Primary Election, February 23, 2021:
- Mayor
- City Clerk
- 1 alderman Ward #1 (4-year term)
- 1 alderman Ward #2 (4-year term)
- 1 alderman Ward #3 (4-year term)
Note: If the offices are uncontested there will be no primary. The candidates will be voted into office at the Consolidated Election on April 6, 2021.
And the 2021 Consolidated Election April 6, 2021:
- 3 Zoning Board Members (4-year term)
- 1 Zoning Board Members (2-year term)
Primary Petitions can be filed Monday through Friday beginning November 16-23, 2020 between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The independent candidate petitions are filed from December 14-21, 2020. All filings will take place at the front counter in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, 108 N. Van Buren. In Clerk’s absence, Deputy City Clerks, Brenda Phillips and Amy J. Tarr, will be available to receive nominating petitions. All the forms to file for candidacy are in the “2021 Candidate’s Guide” is available on the State Board of Elections website at www.elections.state.il.us.
