What made you decide this school was the best fit for you?
It was a school close to home that is a good transition from High School to a University. It gives me more opportunities to be close to my family while still getting the college experience.
How do you feel NCHS has prepared you for this next step in life?
The dual credit classes have helped me get a feel of what college classes are like with the more fast paced environment with more work.
What are at least two life lessons you have learned from your musical time at NCHS ?
I have learned to really soak in the time you have here. I have learned to really appreciate life and all the hard work my music teachers put in for us. I have learned that you can achieve anything you want to with just a little hard work and determination.
How have your instructors and/or directors helped prepare you to perform at a collegiate level?
Mr. Blankenship has been a huge help with preparing for college. He encourages me and my classmates to fill out scholarships or anything else we might need. Mrs. Bridges has helped as well by assigning us a lot of work to help us prepare for what college will be like.
What will you miss the most next year about not being a Newton Eagle?
I’ve been with these classmates since preschool and thinking about how we are all going separate ways is really hard for me. But I know everyone will strive in different ways to become the best version of themselves.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Something I have realized is don’t take this time for granted. It feels like just yesterday I was a freshman when we had half days because of covid everyday and now I’m picking my classes for college. Appreciate this moment in time of still being a kid and don’t say “I can’t wait to grow up.”
