Rita Fay Chapman 90, of Mt. Zion, IL passed away at 1:35 p.m., Wednesday, July 17, 2024, in Mt Zion
Health and Rehabilitation, Mt. Zion, IL.
A service to celebrate Rita’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Calvert & Wikoff
Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday evening from 5:00 p.m.
until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek.

Rita was born September 14, 1933, in Yale, IL the daughter of Ralph and Beulah (Domney) Beals. She
married Russell “Jack” Dean Chapman on March 31, 1952. He preceded her in death on August 24,
- Rita was a homemaker. She had a passion for gardening and reading. She also enjoyed going to
the Saturday night dance in Arthur, IL.
Surviving is her daughter: Carol McRae of Mt. Zion; grandsons: Matthew McRae (Rachael) of Decatur
and Ryan McRae of Mt. Zion; great grandchildren: Charlotte, Samuel, and Theodore McRae.
Rita was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Harry Beals.
