Rosetta L. Bolander age 91, of Newton, Illinois, passed away at 4:45 AM – Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at HSHS St John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, with Fr. Dean Probst celebrating mass. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Newton, Illinois. In loving memory of Rosetta, memorials may be made to St. Thomas School, c/o Mark Bolander, 502 East Morgan Street, Newton, Illinois 62448. Rosetta was born on December 31, 1929, in rural Newton, Illinois, the daughter of George and Catherine (Volk) Kistner. She married Odilo “Joe” Bolander on May 30, 1949, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Newton, Illinois, and he preceded her in death on July 31, 1995.
Rosetta was a homemaker and a lifelong faithful member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and the weekly Rosary group. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crafting, and loved to share her handy work with her family and the community. For several years,
Rosetta and her sister taught the art of quilting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
