Rotary Hears about Event Center from Doug Weddell

Doug Weddell (left), of West End Reception and Events, spoke to the Newton Rotary Club on February 25.  He also owns Wad It Up Transport, which provides transportation by large and small buses and passenger vans, as well as a DJ service.  His existing business will work nicely in conjunction with his new project, which is a large multi-use facility for parties, receptions, reunions, and other special events.  With more than 11,000 square feet and an outdoor patio, the facility will be able to accommodate around 400 people, and will create a few jobs.  It is located near the Cobblestone Inn and will also have a large parking area.  Construction begins soon and they hope to complete the project by late this fall.  You can find them on facebook, instagram, or at their webpage westendreception.com.  Chairperson for the day was Rotarian Greg Parrott (right).  (Photo submitted by Louise Lybarger)
