SBL Donates Physical Proceeds to Newton Schools
Sarah Bush Lincoln recently donated a total of $2,300 back to Newton schools to benefit their athletics. Newton Athletic Boosters received $1,920, and St. Thomas School received $380.
Jill Bierman, principal at St. Thomas School, said the school’s booster club appreciates the donation, and she thanked SBL Newton Clinic providers Michelle Fulton, APRN, and Michele Kinder, APRN, for performing the physicals and being supportive of the school.
Craig Carr, Newton Community High School athletic director, is thankful for the donation as well. “Giving students convenient local opportunities to get their physicals just helps streamline the whole process for their participation, and SBL providing that is a big help,” he said.
Before the school year, the SBL Newton Clinic performed physicals for students in the district, and all the proceeds were given back to the schools’ athletic programs.
SBL offers physicals to local students in its service area every year, and the proceeds from the physicals are donated to each of the respective school districts.
