School Record Broken on Lady Eagles Senior Night

In addition to celebrating the four NCHS Senior Lady Eagles basketball players, the crowd got the opportunity to celebrate the breaking of a school record. Lily Kessler, Emma Nadler, Elley Bennett, and Macy Barthelemy along with their parents were recognized for their time playing and supporting the Newton Lady Eagles.

Additionally, on this evening, Camryn Martin broke the record for most points scored in one season with 459 points after this game. The season is far from over with regional play beginning on Saturday and Pack the Place on Thursday night.

Brad Harris states, “

This was Senior Night for the Lady Eagles.

“I am so proud of what Elley, Lilly, Macy and Emma have accomplished throughout their basketball career.  They have been a positive influence on the program leading to a winning season. Elley has been an integral part of our success. She has been leading the team as the point guard since her sophomore year.

Lilly has improved a lot throughout her years here. Here consistent rebounding and steady scoring has been a foundation to our success.

Macy has shown consistent improvement each year. Her solid defense and key 3 point shooting add another dimension to the team.

Emma has continued to get better each year. She has found her role on the team as being an inside presence and a solid rebounder.”

Also tonight, Camryn Martin set the single season scoring record. With her 24 points tonight, Camryn now has 459 points on the season.

“I am proud of Camryn’s hard work and dedication she has put into basketball. She has continued to work on ways to score and help the team win.”
