Scott A. Workman age 60

Scott A. Workman age 60, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024 at his home in Newton, Illinois.

Cremation rites will be accorded to Mr. Workman.  No formal services are planned at this time.  Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Scott was born on July 30, 1963, in Effingham, Illinois the son of Keith and Lois (Masters) Workman.  Scott was a machinist for EVAPCO, until his health declined.

In his free time, Scott loved being a grandpa to his grandson Rhett.   He also enjoyed time spent with his children and extended family.  Scott was an avid Super Cross fan, sharing this love with his boys.  He was a foodie.  He loved to eat out and cook on the grill.  

Scott will be loved and remembered by his children Corey (Mackenzie) Workman of Newton, Dylan (Emily) Workman of O’Fallon, MO, Nash Workman of Greenup and Hunter Workman of Newton; grandson Rhett Workman of Newton and a granddaughter to be welcomed later this year; brother Victor Workman of Newton and sister Robyn Spicer of Newton.

  1. I was so shocked to hear of Scott’s passing,when we last texted we talked about him and I both being in remission. I told him I would be praying for him. I’m sorry to his family. We were neighbors growing up on Goble St. And would play together with Scott and Victor. My prayers are with you all!

  3. My thoughts and prayers go out to all Scott’s family. I worked with Scott at Evapco for a while and we became friends. Didn’t see to much of each other after I left Evapco, but when we did he was always laughing and a smiling no matter what. A genuine guy! I will miss him.
