Shirley A. Schnell, age 89, of Noble, Illinois, passed away at 7:55 AM – Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Helia Healthcare in Olney, Illinois.
Visitation for family and friends will be held 10:00 -11:00 AM on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at the Meyer Funeral Home in Olney, Illinois. A service celebrating Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dave Martin officiating. Burial will be held in Noble Prairie Cemetery in Noble, Illinois. Shirley was born on November 30, 1933, in rural Richland County, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Effie (Shirley) Badger. She married Donald Dean Schnell on December 20, 1951.
Shirley was a homemaker and devoted wife to her husband Donald, who preceded her in death on June 3, 2012. Shirley loved her family and attended the Glenwood Church of Noble. She loved gardening, canning, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived:
Children – Allen and Dora of Fairfield, Illinois; Marion and Donna of Olney, Illinois; Curtis and Gloria of Olney, Illinois; and Wayne of Noble, Illinois; and Daughter-In-Law Cindy of Noble, Illinois. Grandchildren – Jessica and Ryan Gentry, Nicholas and Andrea Schnell, Elizabeth and Jason Johns, and Matt and Caitlyn Schnell
