Poster Contest Winners

The Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation District sponsored their
annual 5 th and 6 th grade poster contest. The theme for this year was Healthy
Forests, Healthy Communities. All 5 th and 6 th grade students in the county were
invited to participate. The District received a total of 175 posters and they were
judged by Jasper County SWCD & NRCS staff and directors.
Courtney Hall, a 5 th grader at Newton Elementary, had the first-place
poster. Natalie Briscoe a 5 th grader at Newton Elementary placed second and
Avery Ochs a 6 th grader at Newton Elementary placed third.
There were also ten runner-up posters. Arielle Culter, Landon Gentry,
Aubrie Jenks, Veronica Keller, Ashtan Merrell, & Paige Wagner; 6 th graders from
Newton Elementary, Grant Frichtl, Bailey Keebler, Jordyn McClure, & Payton
Smith; 5 th graders from Newton Elementary.
Congratulations to the winners and thank you to all the 5 th and 6 th graders
of the county that participated in the Jasper County Soil and Water Conservation
District’s Poster Contest. The winning posters will be on display at the Peoples
State Bank until April 28 th
