With all the devastation in Louisiana, St. Thomas students and staff will be showing their caring nature by “adopting a school” that has been affected by hurricane Laura.
The school is DeQuincy Middle School in DeQuincy, LA. Due to the lack of electricity and phone service it took a bit for their principal, Mrs. Doyle, and St. Thomas’s Principal, Jill Bierman, to connect.
Mrs. Bierman received the following email:

Thank you so much for reaching out to help us at DeQuincy Middle. At this time they are working to clean up and repair our school. The roof on the sixth grade hallway was ripped off and 6 classrooms were flooded. We were supposed to of started school the Monday before Hurricane Laura, but it was postponed. We have families in town that have lost their homes. There are some that still don’t have electricity and parents that are out of work. We appreciate any help that your school feels lead to give.”
