St. Thomas to Host 15th Annual Harvest Picnic on October 12

The St. Thomas Parish is gearing up for its 15th Annual Harvest Picnic, set for Sunday, October 12th, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at 404 W. Jourdan St. in Newton. The evening promises a full lineup of food, fun, live music, and raffles for all ages to enjoy.

This year’s picnic will once again combine family-friendly entertainment with a spirit of giving, as 10% of all proceeds will go to the Newton Family Life Center.

Festivities will begin at 4:00 p.m. with a Kansas City-style chicken meal (already sold out), while kids and teens can join in games hosted by CYO from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. Local band A Little Soco will provide live music from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., creating the perfect backdrop for an autumn evening.

At 7:00 p.m., attendees can look forward to the popular basket raffle drawing. Shortly after, at 7:15 p.m., the much-anticipated Grand Prize Raffle Drawing will take place. The grand prize features a John Deere 1025R Tractor with a 120R Loader and mower deck—or the option of $15,000 cash. Additional raffle prizes include $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place.

Raffle tickets are available for $20 each or 6 for $100, and participants do not need to be present to win. Those wishing to enter by mail may send a check payable to St. Thomas Church along with their name, address, phone number, and the number of tickets requested.

With food, games, music, and the chance to win big, the St. Thomas Harvest Picnic offers something for everyone while supporting a worthy cause in the community.
