STATE’S ATTORNEY’S 13TH ANNUAL “TAKE A BITE OUT OF CRIME” GOLF OUTING
According to Jasper County State’s Attorney James S. Treccia, the thirteenth annual “Take A Bite Out of Crime” golf outing was a big success. Treccia is pictured presenting checks to Jasper County Sheriff Brandon Francis and Newton Police Chief Riley Britton from the proceeds of the annual fundraiser. This year’s event was on August 26th at the Richland County Country Club in Olney where about 70 golfers competed. Following the 18 hole outing, golfers were treated to a ribeye steak dinner in the clubhouse while awards and prizes were handed out. Treccia complimented local businesses for continuing to donate door prizes, raffle items, and hole sponsorships. The law enforcement agencies will use the money received to help with drug prevention efforts. On the success of the event, Treccia commented, “I was so pleased by the generous participation and support from the people of Jasper and surrounding counties”.
