Stephen Denzel Huddlestun
10/6/1943 – 5/16/2025
Stephen passed away peacefully while sleeping in his recliner at home in Shreveport,
LA.
He started dating his sweetheart, Scarlett, in September 1961 and married her on
March 6, 1964, and loved and spoiled her until the day he passed.
Stephen was a graduate of Newton High followed by the Army Reserve then on to
graduate from Eastern Illinois College in Charleston, IL. He then taught Industrial Arts
and Auto Mechanics at Newton High in Newton, IL. He built houses and helped family
& friends with countless home improvement projects (which he absolutely loved to do)
Stephen also rebuilt hot rods with both of his daughters, both son-in-laws & his
grandson. He was ALWAYS ready to make any adventure, craft project or build happen
that his sweetheart imagine up & planned. Stephen retired from Bituminous Insurance
Company.
He was proceded in death by his mother and father, Minerva and Denzel, his sister,
Kay, and granddaughter, Mason.
Stephen left behind his wife, Scarlett, daughters, Tawney and Michan and son-in-laws,
Robert and Mickey, his grandson, Stephen Raul, sister, Sue and brother, Dean and
many many many nieces and nephews.
Husband/Dad/Grandpa/Uncle/Brother/Brother-in-Law/Father-in-Law/Mr. Fixit/Mr.Safety
will be missed by so many.
No flowers necessary. There will be a celebration of life in the country around a bon-
fire. Telling stories about the old times like he liked to do.
