Stoney Allen Shamhart age 57, of Newton passed away at his home on Saturday,
August 17, 2024, from complications of lung cancer.
Cremation rites will be accorded to Mr. Shamhart. Interment services are planned
for a later date. Crain Funeral Home, Newton is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Stoney was born on July 23, 1967, in Effingham, Illinois the son of Gerald Leroy
and Etta May “Tootie” (Cox) Shamhart. Stoney enjoyed gardening and working in
his yard.
He will be loved and remembered by his daughter, Natashia Lynn Shamhart of
Charleston, IL; grandchildren, Kadynce Helregal of Ste. Marie and Gage
Blackwell of Newton; longtime girlfriend and love of his life, Billie Kirkey of
Newton; sister, Darla Jean Shamhart of Newton; nieces, Trisha Lambird of
Effingham and Chelsea Lambird of Olney; cousins, Becky Wonn of Olney and
Jerri Menke of Ashmore; and constant companion, his dog Buddy.
His parents, Gerald and Etta May Shamhart, preceded him in death.
