Adrianne Leighty will be showcasing her artistic talents at the Newton Public Library through the 28th of April.
When did you first become interested in art?
I became interested in art around the age of 10. I was in 5th grade and started doodling little bunnies on all my homework assignments, after that I got a sketchbook and carried it with me everywhere.
Describe to me your favorite piece of art, please, and why it is your favorite.
I did a drawing on my computer, it’s of all the characters I’ve created over the years. From when I first started drawing to the most recent ones I made, I drew them as if they were all buddies and knew each other, and seeing all my characters from when I was so young to now all together in one drawing makes me very happy.
What are your favorite medium and your favorite subjects? Why?
Digital art and regular everyday mechanical pencils. Online, I have an undo button which is amazing to use. With mechanical pencils, they are easy to get and cheap, and I can carry them around in my little bag.
What would you like to do after high school?
I’m currently going to be attending EIU for two degrees, Criminology and Sociology with also a minor in art. Although I’ve been heavily considering going into tattooing, I’d still like to attend college so I’ll be exploring my options for the first couple of years.
Is there anything else you would like to add?
Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey in art! This especially includes my amazing parents. Thank you Mom, Dad, Emily, and Doug for being my biggest supporters and I love you all so much.
