Summoning All Witches to Invoke the “Spirits”

While the daylight is for the children, when the sun goes down the witches come out. Come join the cackling clan of witchy women as they stroll around the square drinking the magical concoctions created craftily by local artisans by the light of the moon. 

On October 21st, at 7:00 pm the witching hour begins as a few of the local drinking establishments participate in the first annual witches walk. 

While cloaks and capes and black pointy hats are not required to join in on the festivities, summoning up your inner child and recreating the magical mystery of Halloween with a creatively designed costume is welcomed and encouraged.

For only ten ancient and powerful gold coins ($10), any witch or warlock will gain entry into the “four corners” of Newton including the Ambraw River Eagles, the West Side Lounge, the Newton VFW, and the Newton KC Hall.

Each hallowed and haunted location will have their own specially formulated potion for purchase or melodious ritual for communal participation. 

The Ambraw River Eagles will celebrate the most witchiest witch of the evening with a contest for the best costume with a cash prize. The West Side Lounge will be showcasing various witches brews with drink specials and a beer garden. The Newton KC Hall will also be providing some spellbinding offers on crafty creations encouraging you to lift your chalice and celebrate the hallowed time of year (drink specials) and the Newton VFW invites all to invoke the spirits through melody and merriment while casting away the worries and cares of the world with a ritualistic form of spell casting set to music (DJ and karaoke) while partaking in their $2 beer specials and mixed drink specials. 

Around the square the spirits of the ancestors will be awaiting in the hopes of being captured in a photo with the photos op. As the night unfolds and the witching hour passes , tarot card readers will be on hand around the square to provide a spellbinding glimpse into the future.
