A telephone scam has been reported to the City of Newton. Residents have reported that someone claiming to be from the City has called claiming the city has overcharged residents and is apologizing.
The scammer then attempts to collect information from the resident such as information from an old utility bill or bank account information. This is NOT the City of Newton and please do not give them any information.
