I would like to personally thank those individuals who are currently working on behalf of Jasper County Boys and Girls Park. The weather this spring presented many scheduling challenges, and I was able to easily and frequently communicate with the ballpark staff regarding changing game days and times. Additionally, I must mention the playing surfaces. The Girls Diamond was incredible the way it took water and became playable once again so quickly. Several opposing coaches mentioned that throughout the spring. Also, there were great improvements made to the Pony Diamond in time for the IHSA baseball tournament that we hosted in mid-May, and I sincerely appreciated that as well. The mound and plate area were top notch at that time. Lastly, we also hosted the IHSA regional and sectional softball tournaments. There were nice crowds at the ballpark for all of these games, and I think it was a win-win for our school and the ballpark to be able to host these tournaments during which our fields and facilities (including the hitting building and new concession stand/restrooms) could be utilized not only our own players and fans but by people from Robinson, Lawrenceville, Flora, Arthur, Teutopolis, Mt. Carmel and Breese as well.
Sincerely,
Craig Carr
