Philip was born on March 26, 1967, in Effingham, Illinois, the son of Glen Eugene and Ruth Frances (Chapman) Griffith.
Philip worked in the oil field for many years and enjoyed fishing and helping others.

Philip was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Stephen Chapman, Lynn Griffith, Bradley Griffith and Larry Griffith.
