Tom Clark Named 2026 National Athletic Hall of Fame Twelfth Man Award Recipient

LOUISVILLE, Ill. — The National Athletic Hall of Fame Selection Committee has announced that longtime Newton Eagles football public address announcer Tom Clark has been selected as the 2026 recipient of the prestigious Twelfth Man Award.

For the past 50 years, Clark has been the familiar voice echoing through Newton Eagles football games, bringing energy, enthusiasm, and dedication to Friday night traditions. His unwavering commitment has made him an integral part of the game-day experience for generations of players, coaches, and fans.

In addition to his decades of service to local athletics, Clark has devoted countless hours to serving the Newton community. His civic involvement includes membership in the Newton Rotary Club, service on the Jasper County Health Department Board, and participation on the Newton City Council Zoning Board. His leadership and volunteerism have left a lasting impact both on and off the field.

The Twelfth Man Award recognizes individuals whose behind-the-scenes dedication, service, and support have strengthened athletics and their communities. Clark’s half-century of commitment to Newton athletics and his lifelong record of community service make him a fitting recipient of the honor.

The 2026 National Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on the evening of Friday, November 13, 2026, at the Teutopolis Banquet Hall in Teutopolis, Illinois, where Clark will be formally inducted alongside the Hall of Fame’s 2026 class.
