The third grade classes at Newton Elementary are collecting plastic lids to make benches for the Newton Elementary playground as their service project for the year.
In the flyer below, there is the information about the kinds of caps and how to donate, however, with the overwhelming support thus far, an additional need has occurred in which there may be more caps than needed and the kids and staff would love to create additional benches for the playground, however, they will be in need of some assistance from the community. Each bench has a cost associated with it, and with the help of the community the third grade class would love to be able to increase the number of benches and maybe even add tables for students to practice their communication skills at, create life long friendships and build the bonds of safety, security, and love they need to become well rounded people.
